Abstract
In this paper, an attempt has been made to study how effectively an untreated flyash can be utilized as structural fill for embankment construction along with naturally available laterite soil. The flyash in its finest form is obtained from Raichur thermal power plant. The physical properties of both flyash and laterite soils are studied. The feasibility of flyash for embankment construction has been investigated through CBR and' compaction tests. The tests are conducted in different proportions of flyash and laterite soil. Based on it laboratory tests it has been concluded that the proportion 40:60 (flyash:laterite soil) yields higher CBR value and maximum dry unit weigh.
