Abstract
In the present paper, an attempt has been made to highlight the energy saving potential of modern. efficient lighting products and the significance of demand side management (DSM) programmes in realising the large-scale gain from energy efficient lighting. Some of the market characteristics that create difficulties for implementing lighting DSM programmes and some of the options that are available to introduce and promote. energy efficient lighting in the country. are also being studied and discussed in this paper.
