Abstract
Well type RIA Gamma Counter is indispensable instrument for various purposes in nuclear medicine . For reliable clinical practice evaluation of system performance as for specification are desired. In this article an attempt has been made to assure the performance of ECIL single well RIA Gamma Counter with three parameters ,which are intrinsic efficiency , minimum detectable activity and sample volume effect. For assuring the performance, experiment has been conducted with single well Iodine-125 Gamma Counter (ECIL model No IC- 4702A). Standard counting technique was adopted throughout the study . It has been found that the results are in conformity with the specified value and single well RIA gamma counter is in workable condition.
