Abstract
Distributed generation (DG) has become increasingly popular in many power systems across the world. It is an effective approach to facilitate the usage of renewable resources for power generation. The DG operation characteristics affect the power flow and voltage alteration. DG may increase the risks of over voltage. These risks can be reduced or even be mitigated, if the voltage and reactive power control equipment operations are coordinated. In this paper, a method for voltage regulation in a distribution network with the multi-DG systems is presented. The rise in the voltage is controlled by using the coordinated reactive power control based on voltage sensitivity analysis and participation factor of DGs. The simulation results using the proposed method for a radial distribution system under different load conditions are also reported in this pape
