Abstract
Nanocarbon is one of the material which seems to be in the forefront, in terms of its physical, chemical, electrical, optical and thermal characteristics. Available various forms of nanocarbon including carbon nanotubes, nanostructured graphite, nanodiamond, nanowalls, nanocluster carbon, diamond like carbon (DLC), graphene, tetrahedral amorphous carbon(taC) and many other attracting forms. Proposed study of nano carbon includes nanocluster grown at low temperature, nano-diamond grown at high temperature with Hot Filament Chemical Vapor Deposition(HFCVD) process. Nanocluster films grown at various process conditions especially with varying Helium and Nitrogen, temperature, position of substrate. Studied surface characteristics of nanocarbons using SEM for nanocluster, nanodiamond, and taC etc. The SEM images of nanocarbons provides visual information’s and its Matlab based analysis using histogram provides a novel approach for analyzing nanocarbon for in situ estimation of cluster size or distribution. The usage of Raman response and SEM analysis together can evaluate nanocarbons. Estimation of cluster dimensions, distribution information’s are useful for nanocarbon quantitative and qualitative analysis.
