Abstract
There has been a lot of progress and breakthroughs in the field of medical imaging. Most of the progress has been in Ultrasound (USG), Computed tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology. The latest advances in ultrasound are 3D and 4D imaging. PET-CT has revolutionized oncologic imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can provide a more sensitive diagnosis than computed tomography (CT) for the most common type of stroke, called ischemic stroke. A sequence – Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) has revolutionized the role of MRI in many disease processes. These advances in imaging technology have had a huge impact on the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
