Abstract

Visible light irradiation of solutions containing [(η5-C5H5) (CO)3WSC(S)NMe2] (1) and Fe2(CO)9 or Mn2(CO)10 leads to a transmetallation type of reaction and formation of Fe(S2CNMe2)2 and Mn(CO)4(S2CNMe2) respectively. However, the reaction of 1 with M(PPh3)4, M = Pt, or Pd, leads to conversion to the dicarbonyl chelate complex [(η5-C5H5)(CO)2W(S2CNMe2)].
