Abstract

Adolescents constitute the healthiest group in the population, having the lowest mortality and morbidity compared with other population age groups. Adolescents belong to a very vital age group because they are the entrant population to be prepared for parenthood. Adolescents undergo vital physical and psychosexual changes. During this phase of transition from childhood, adolescents are often confused about the physical and emotional changes in their bodies and feel hesitant and embarrassed to discuss them with anyone. Adolescent girls are especially vulnerable to the biological and social changes taking place during this time and their effects. An evaluative study was conducted to identify the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge and attitude regarding selected aspects of Planned Parenthood. There was a significant improvement in the post-test knowledge and attitude scores of the students who were exposed to the session. It was encouraging to see that the students were interested in learning Planned Parenthood and apply this knowledge in their life style
