The occurrence of breast cancer during pregnancy and lactation presents a challenging clinical problem. Delay in diagnosis appears to be the primary reason for the generally worse prognosis overall for allpatients with breast cancer diagnosed during pregnancy. Unfortunately, this delay can be attributed to physician neglect equally as that to the patient. The obstetrician who performs the routine antenatal examinations can play an importantrole by performing a vital breast examination which might bring to light and prompt timely investigationof otherwise asymptomatic breast masses
