Abstract
Aim:In this study, aim was to investigate the wound healing and antioxidant activities of Buxus wallichiana bark. Meterials and Methods: The Methanolic extract of Buxus walliachiana Baill, was evaluated for wound healing activity by excision model at 5 and 10 % concentration. Results: Methanol extract of Buxus walliachiana ointment (5 %) showed a significant reduction in the wound area from 10th day to 20th day of the experiment and 10 % produced dose depended reduction in the wound area. Nitrofurazolidine ointment (2 %) was used as standard. Methanol extract of Buxus walliachiana ointment 10 % showed significant reduction in wound area when all results were compared with standard. Different extracts of Buxus walliachiana was evaluated for antioxidant potential by; DPPH and Nitric oxide methods. Conclusion: Methanol extract showed potential antioxidant activity.
