Abstract
Peristaltic transport of three layered viscous incompressible fluid (Herschel-Bulkley) in reference to axi-symmetric case (sinusoidal wave) with low Reynolds number at moderate amplitude ratio. Flow is considered as threelayered model consisting of three layers (incompressible fluids) of different viscosities μ1,μ2 and μ3 occupying core, intermediate and peripheral layers in a circular tube. Theoretical analysis with the use of Herschel-Bulkley fluid gives the effective insight to show the positive pumping action considered under contraction and expansion of waves. Theoretical analysis is focused on obtaining the velocity, flux, stream function, the limitation of flux and the friction force. These computations provide better accuracy in numerical results. Comparisons have been made between theoretical and experimental observations.
