Abstract

Wehavefabricatedorganicphotovoltaicdeviceswithblendsofpoly[9,90-dioctyl-fluorene-cobithiophene](F8T2)andfullereneasanelectrondonorandelectronacceptor,respectively.Asignificant improvementofthephotovoltaicefficiencywasfoundindevicebyusingactivematerialswith complementaryspectra.Thedifferentweightratiosofcompositefilmwerealsoperformedtocorrelate between morphologyandthedeviceperformance.Apowerconversionefficiency(PCE)upto2.0%with an open-circuitvoltageof0.85Vandashort-circuitcurrent(JSC) of5.3mA/cm2, wasachievedby blendingtheF8T2with[6,6]-phenyl-C71-butyricacidmethylester(PC[70]BM).
