Total cross sections for the interaction of 661.6 KeV gamma rays from a 137Cs source of strength 25 mCi, with elements Al, Si,Cu, Ge, Mo, Sn, Au, and Pb were measured by transmission method using a good geometry set up employing NaI(Tl) scintillation spectrometer coupled to a 8K MCA. The incoherent scattering cross sections are calculated by subtracting the sum of the theoretical coherent and photoelectric cross sections from the measured total cross sections.
