Abstract

In this work, the detailed study & modeling of a PMSM drive system has been carried out in Simulink, where the drive operation is done by field oriented control. The simulation includes all realistic components of the system, which enables the calculation of currents and voltages in different parts of the inverter and the motor under transient and steady conditions. The losses across different parts are calculated, by facilitating the 6 pulse inverter design. A comparative study of Hall signal Effect with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control schemes associated with current controllers are being given here for different speeds of operation. &A closed loop control system with a PI controller in the speed loop has been designed to operate in constant torque and flux weakening regions.
