Abstract
We define telemedicine as the remote communication of information to facilitate clinical care. The exchange of information can be accomplished using data networking. Tele-health deals with general health care services in contrast to telemedicine, which refers to health care services for individuals. Online telemedicine is the development of the Internet as a vehicle for the use of electronic information and communications technologies to provide and support health care when distance separates the participants. For more than three decades, clinicians, health services researches, and others have been investigating the use of advanced telecommunications and information technologies to improve health care.
