Abstract

Chemical injuries of gastrointestinal tract due to corrosive ingestion occur worldwide and are well documented. Deaths due to suicidal corrosive acid ingestion rarely do invite suspicion of foul play, like in un-witnessed deaths or the victim found dead in a suspicious manner. A case is reported where in a middle aged man was found dead with suspected injuries due to assault in the premises of a public building. The case was later diagnosed as to be death due to ingestion of sulphuric acid.
