Abstract

In the present work, a series of novel Schiff’s bases of 2-Quinolones were synthesized and characterized. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against different bacterial strains. Out of the 15 compounds screened for the antibacterial activity,3 compounds (JMB3, JMB11, JMB13) showed antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli and were comparable with the standard.
