Abstract
In the present study the endosperm protein of the four hybrid materials, i.e., S.288, Ligenioides, Racemusta and HDT were studied by SDS-PAGE. The banding pattern showed variation in Rm value, width and intensity of bands. Further, unique protein bands were observed in the materials S.288 and HDT. Peroxidase activity indicated high constitutive level of peroxidase activity in HDT. The results indicated its possible utility in identification of resistant plants and characterization of coffee germplasm.
