Abstract
This study is based on the study to compare the business characteristics of a firm and the success of women entrepreneurs operating micro, small and medium scale fashion and apparel enterprises. In order to arrive at the conclusions, a self-administered questionnaire was employed to collect the data from the sample. The sample was selected based on the stratified proportionate random sampling along the three districts of Coastal Karnataka. The enterprises for the study were in operation for the minimum of three years at the time of survey. It was found during the study that there is a strong association between the business characteristics and the success of women entrepreneurs. This paper also emphasizes on the findings of the study which resulted in listing of empirically grounded growth-related business characteristics that are associated with successful firms
