Libraries are playing an important role in providing up to date and exhaustive information to their users. They subscribe to various electronic resources like databases, online journals, clinical resources, e-books etc depending on the type of libraries, their objectives and their users. The users could also use open access resources which are freely accessible through internet.Today users have access to vast amount of information through subscribed as well as open access resources than before. The electronic resources have their own features and familiarity with those features could help the user in retrieving the relevant literature from them. Increasing number of electronic resources and lack of standardization in search features among them made literature search a difficult task and also made end user training sessions for accessing electronic resources, a need of the hour. Library professionals should play an important role in creating awareness among their users on both open access electronic resources and electronic resources subscribed by the library and also conduct training sessions to the users for maximum use of the electronic resources.
