Abstract
Today’s Libraries are offering a wide range of online resources to their users. They have named the medium as “digital library” or “virtual library”. Hence Virtual Library can be called as Internet based information retrieval system. The concept of “Virtual Library” is that any person who has a computer and an internet connection can access not only the resources of the library but also variety of information available worldwide without being physically present in library. The ICT has given various remote access software using which user can access library resources from anywhere. This not only improves the usage of resources but also give the pride feel for the librarians to remain connected with its users always. This article elaborates the concept of virtual Library, remote access and remote access to electronic resources at MIT central library, Manipal University, Manipal.
