Libraries of all over the world are accepting and moving towards automation. Electronic resources like journals, magazines, indexing and abstracting databases are becoming more and more popular than printed resources, so the use of modern electronic devises for the retrieval of the information is becoming a must in this modern era. Libraries are subscribing digital collections more because of the ongoing demands from the users. In this fast moving world the time schedule of people in all walks of life are more important, they don’t have much time to come to library for getting information for research and other relevant purposes. Access can be from the user’s office, work place and home whether or not the physical library is open. The library is getting usage statistics that is not possible in print collections, the digital collection save space and budget in this information explosion era. Users’ perception of the library changed now and there is a dramatic shift from traditional print to digital. Most wonderful usage of Mobile technology is in the field of clinical doctors’ workplace learning and patient care. Adopting and mastering themselves in any new technology is the success behind any enterprises. Library is being the knowledge center, is accepting the new trend of its patron in giving services through mobile devices, without making users to leave their comfort zones. The expectation of the new generation is to get the library services in their hand held device, to access, at any time anywhere. The best practices of a library are to improve the communication between the users and the library. Mobile access to library services is a boon to the new generation users. In their busy schedule delivery of this robust new service is a blessing.
