Abstract

Aluminium alloys and their composites are having lot of importance in materials engineering due to their high technological value and wide range of applications. The usage of these materials, expose them to environments that could be acidic or alkaline. Some organic or to the corrosive medium to reduce the rate of attack on these materials. These compounds get adsorbed on the surface forming a barrier between the surface and the environment. In the present work, inhibition efficiency of 5-[(2- methylphenoxy)methyl]-4-{[(1E)-(3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)methylene]amino}-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2, 4-triazole-3-thiol (MMATT) on the corrosion of 6061 Al alloy- 15 vol. % SiC(p) composite in 0.1 M HCl in 30 - 60
