Abstract
Primary liposarcoma of the pleura are extremely rare tumors with relatively few report cases in the literature review. We reported a case of 65 year old male patient who presented with dyspnoea and left sided chest pain. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of the mass revealed a myxoid tumor made up of atypical lipoblasts with arborizing blood vessels. A diagnosis of primary myxoid liposarcoma of the pleura was made, which was later confirmed on histopathology. FNAC diagnosis of pleural liposarcoma is a challenge due to its rarity. It is a simple, inexpensive and minimally invasive tool in the evaluation of soft tissue tumors.
