Abstract

A new series of 3-substituted-2-aryl-4-thiazolidinones carrying benzothiazole (5a-l) have been synthesized starting from 6-amino benzothiazole. The structures of these newly synthesized compounds were elucidated by elemental analysis, 1H NMR and mass spectral data. Also these compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against bacteria Pseudomonas, Staphylcoccus aureus, Enterococcus, Eschericia coli and antifungal activity against Candida albicans and antioxidant activity by DPPH radical scavenging assay method.
