Abstract
Design of an adaptive controller for controlling liquid level in a tank is proposed in this paper. The objective of the proposed paper is to design a PID controller to control the level of liquid. A multi-sensor data fusion architecture based controller is proposed which tunes value of proportional gain constant (KP), integral constant (KI), and differential constant (KD) to maintain a constant liquid level even with changes in liquid temperature. Reaction of temperature with liquid level relation is obtained using measured temperature from temperature sensor. Level process is modeled using two point model technique and model equation for variation in liquid temperature is identified to obtain the new PID values using Ziegler Nicholas tuning technique. The obtained controller is subjected to test with variations in liquid level and temperature, results shows stabilization of process variable
