Abstract
In this paper a level measurement technique is proposed using multi sensor data fusion. Two dissimilar level sensors like capacitance level sensor and ultrasonic level sensors are used in the measurement of level. The objective of the proposed work is to design an intelligent technique for selection of sensing element based on the user defined characteristics. The characteristics here considered are sensitivity and linearity in measurement system. Based on the user defined requirements of sensitivity, and linearity the proposed design selects the sensor to be used for measurement of level. The proposed work is also designed to identify the fault based on the output characteristics of measurement system using fuzzy logic algorithms. The proposed technique was subjected with simulated data and the results show that the objective set is successfully achieved
