Abstract

In this paper, we propose the technique to automatically calculate the number of pencils in a packet using thresholding and edge detection techniques of image processing. By this technique, the background of the pencils is detected by detecting the change in background color. To show the effectiveness of this technique the results are compared with manual testing.
