Abstract
In this paper an intelligent temperature measurement technique is proposed using multi sensor data fusion. Two dissimilar temperature sensors like thermistor and thermocouple are used in the measurement of temperature. The objective of the proposed work is to design a technique for selection of sensing element based on the user defined characteristics like desired sensitivity and linearity. Based on the user defined requirements of sensitivity, linearity, and range of measurement the proposed design selects the sensor to be used for measurement of temperature. The technique also detects the fault in the measurement system based on the output characteristics of measurement system using a fuzzy toolbox. The proposed technique was subjected with simulated data and the results show that the objective set is successfully achieved
