Abstract

Even though intensive studies are being carried out during the last five decades, still Protein Structure Prediction (PSP) is an open problem and developing a practical solution is widely considered as a holy grail in computational biology. Moreover, this problem presents a vast search space and the analysis of each conformation requires significant amount of computing time. Thus, parallel processing could provide new opportunities to improve the quality of the solutions found until now with comparatively less time. In this work, we propose a parallel enhanced evolutionary algorithm which is robust across a range of protein structure model and instances.
