Abstract
Use of optical technology in parallel computer systems leads to high speed interconnects in digital systems. Free-space optoelectronic technology can be used to implement interconnection network system in a massively parallel computers[7]. Communication could be handled optically among the chips[4]. The area required to lay out such networks in VLSI frequently grows faster than linearly as a function of the number of nodes. An N2 node hypercube can be constructed from N copies of the N-node hypercube.
