Abstract

Agricultural Marketing Research is in an infant stage in India. Developing a strong marketing model to enhance the sale of agricultural products in India is confronted with problems like non-availability of updated data, unorganized operations especially in the distribution system, lack of understanding in the purchase behavior pattern of the consumer etc. It is a well-established fact, supported by literature review that producers of agriculture produce and final consumers are the most affected by huge margin of profits pocketed by middlemen. It is therefore necessary to develop a marketing model by analyzing the purchase behavior of consumers towards agricultural produce.
