Abstract

In cognitive radio networks the performance of the sensing process is significant for the overall network performance. However the sensing performance of a single user is limited by noise uncertainty, shadowing and multi-path fading. Multi-user based cooperative sensing is a proposed solution for improving the detection accuracy and reliability by exploiting spatial diversity. This report gives a short overview on the possibilities, drawbacks and challenges of cooperative sensing.
