Abstract
The inhibition effect and adsorption behavior N'-[4-(dimethylamino) benzylidene]-4-hydroxybenzohydrazide (DABBH) of on mild steel in 2 M hydrochloric acid solution were studied by potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The inhibition efficiency increases with increase in DABBH concentration and decreases with increase in temperature. Potentiodynamic polarization studies showed that DABBH acted as mixed type of inhibitor. The adsorption process of DABBH at the mild steel/hydrochloric acid solution interface is follows mixed adsorption and obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. The activation and thermodynamic parameters for the corrosion inhibition process were calculated and discussed.
