Abstract
partially bio-degradable composites were prepared using fibers extracted from Grewia Serrulata plant with unsaturated polyester resin. Fibers were cut into lengths of 10 mm and 20 mm and were subjected to alkali pre treatment. The hand lay-up technique was used for the fabrication of the composites. Tensile strength and flexural strength of the specimens cut were tested following the respective ASTM standards. It is found that the mechanical properties of natural fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester composites are higher than Unsaturated polyester resin. It is proposed that such natural fiber reinforced composites can be used for many of the real life applications
