Abstract
A 56 year old female patient belonging to American Society of Anaesthesiologists Physical Status (ASA-PS) 1 underwent emergency laparoscopic appendectomy. Surgery was neventful. After reversal of the neuromuscular blockade and xtubation, patient sustained acute upper airway obstruction due to laryngospasm and developed negative pressure pulmonary oedema, which resolved after a period of about 15 hours of mechanical ventilation.
