In this paper we illustrate the basic idea of analyzing and designing a robust controller for a plant P whose dynamics contains significant uncertainty . H infinity controller design is one of the most popular methods of modern controller design. We emphasize the design of controller for the plant P with feedback configuration, along with particular choice of weighting functions W1 and W2 there by achieving the robust performance, which naturally improves the computational efficiency of the robust controller design technique. We apply the theories of spectral factorization , inner outer factorization and by using Nahari’s theorem we write the model matching problem as a minimum distance problem and hence calculate the Youla parameter Q and derives a suitable controller C. it is observed that the designed reduced order robust controller with weighting function W1 and W2 can be related by the inequality || | W1 S|+| W2T|||∞<1. Where S is the sensitivity function and T is the complementary sensitivity function. Which can be represented in the complex plane as two disks and they are disjoint at all frequencies
