Abstract

High frequency electronic ballast has attracted much attention in recent years. Moreover with goal alleviating problem of noises, line voltages distortion, and enforcement of new harmonic regulations on the utility line. To verify the performance of electronic ballast, simulation becomes a useful tool that allows topology analysis to be obtained. Here in this paper we provide an interactive graphical user interface environment using MATLAB/SIMULINK for simulation of electronic ballast. With the help of its intutive graphical user interface, basic circuit theories and state model approach simulink models of electronic ballast is constructed and we have analysed lamp current and voltage wave forms for various duty cycles. The computer aided design software tool MATLAB/Simulink is quite useful in providing a simulation environment as well as open opportunities to explore more advanced control techniques.
