Abstract

The aim of the work is to show that the High Pressure Sodium Vapour (HPSV) lamp Tubular version, with light output golden yellow colour, can be used for illuminating Industrial interiors and also to show that they save the energy as well as the cost with better illumination level . This is achieved by changing the reflectance characteristics of the reflector, by chemical treatment to the reflector, there by light gets diffused to some extent. Since the tubular version lamp gives extra lumens compare to elliptical coated version lamp, this can be used as one of the energy effective light source and make the optics of the lamp more conducive. From the newly innovated system, lamp with diffused reflector combination, the energy saved is substantial. Additional cost involved in developing the new reflector is negligible. Only the existing standard materials and components are used with little modification by chemical treatment
