Abstract

H infinity control theory is applied to obtain a robust controller for the automatic Insulin delivery rate. The control action permits to prevent the hyperglycemic level in a type 1 diabetic patient. Because the parameters in the mathematical model of the blood glucose present a considerable amount of uncertainty. The H infinity framework is well suited for the design of controllers that take in to account a nice compromise between robust closed loop regulation of a constant set point and performance expressed in terms of peak values of the plasma glucose concentration.
