Abstract

The present work aimed to develop a Magneto Rheological fluid damper for the single degree freedom system. An experimental setup of single degree of freedom system having MRF damper with base excitation was designed and fabricated for low frequency application. Experiments were conducted to obtain dynamic response of the MRF damper in the dry friction state considering MRF damper with no magnetic field and MRF with varying magnetic field. The experimental setup can be correlated to the machine during low frequency excitation.
