Abstract

Baseline wander of Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals can mask some important features, such as signal peaks. This noise should be removed from ECG before extracting the characteristic features. This paper presents a novel algorithm for baseline wander elimination using wavelet Multi Resolution Analysis. Performance of algorithm is quantitatively evaluated using Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE) criteria. The method is validated through experiments on the MIT–BIH database. Using this algorithm result shows, a considerable accuracy and consistency in performance.
