Abstract
In the present investigation detailed electrical, magnetic and thermoelectric measurements on Bi-doped L0.6xBixSr0.4MnO3 (0rxr0.3) manganite shavebeen done.Allthesamplesaresinglephased.The metal-insulator transitiontemperatures(TMI) aswellastheCurietemperature(TC) arebothfoundto decrease withBi-content.Magneto-resistance(MR)datashowsthatMR(%)increaseswithBi-content therebyshowingitcanbeusedinmagneticmemorybaseddevices.Resistivitydatashowsthatsmall polaron hopping(SPH)modelisvalidinhightemperatureregime.Lowtemperatureresistivitydata depicts thatelectron–electron scatteringismainlyresponsiblefortheconductionmechanism.High temperaturethermoelectricpower(TEP)datareaffirms thevalidityofSPHmodel
