Abstract

Continued expansion of the internet calls for enhanced abstract modeling of the network to ensure continued reliable communication. Abstract modeling requires additional focus on capabilities to uniquely address and cluster the network. Towards addressing this issue a graph structured framework is used to identify minimum number of landmarks and to place the landmarks in such a way to uniquely address and cluster the nodes in a network topology. The derived results may be used to decide the type of topology for a given application. The results clearly indicate the trade offs, in terms of the performance for a given topology with the varying input parameters.
