Abstract
Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) is one of the growing challenges in recent times as it helpful in observing the behaviour of blood flow through arteries and to study the mechanisms of diseases like Atherosclerosis, Hypertension, and Aneurysms etc. The present study is to compare the changes in normal and stenosed (eccentric and concentric) common carotid artery. The models are generated in CATIA based on the clinical data obtained from a young healthy volunteer using Ultrasound Doppler. The transient FSI model is simulated for realistic physiological boundary conditions on normal and stenosed models using ANSYS-13.0 to demonstrate the changes in flow behaviour at various sections of the all the models. The computed results agree well with clinical observations and available literature
