Abstract
Electronic databases or online databases are the outcome of revolution in information technology. Online databases are available in almost all fields of knowledge. Engineering and Technology field is not an exception. Several databases are published in this field and IEL online is an important database. Search techniques in built in this database has made it very popular among the users. In this paper an attempt is made to learn the use of search technique by the users of Central Library, Manipal Insittute of Technology (MIT), Manipal. Proximity search is found to be most unique in this database.
