Abstract
India has a vast potential for social entrepreneurship. The authors attempt to highlight the success of Indian social entrepreneurs and their influence in societal transformation through a biographical study of four such persons. The subjects’ innovative solutions for social welfare through non-profit organizations is not to be measured in monetary terms, but in terms of societal transformation. The following social entrepreneurs’ life histories are described in detail: Bindeshwar Pathak (Sulabh International), Anita Ahuja (Rags To RichesConserve), Anand Kumar (The Super 30) and Anshu Gupta (Goonj)
