Abstract

Demand for school gears are increasing day by day with time. This increase in demand can be fulfilled only by complete utilization of technology. In view of the situation, the proposed work presents a technique for an automated process in fault diagnosis on packets. Proposed work is based on application of image processing techniques for detecting faults in crayon packets. Objectives of the proposed work are to count, number of crayon in each packet and check if its’ as per desired number. Smart camera is used to capture images of crayon packets in packaging line and the data is sent to LabVIEW for processing. Further a program is written using LabVIEW to process the data and detect the faulty packages. The system was subjected to test a nd the results proved satisfactory.
