Abstract

In this study we have determined the natural radioactivity content of six different types of Indian rock samples by using the technique of gamma ray spectrometry. The data thus obtained is used to calculate the various radiological hazard indices like radium equivalent activity aeq),external hazard index (Hex), gamma index (Iγ), indoor absorbed gamma dose rate (D), and indoor annual effective dose (H). The results obtained are tabulated and compared with the world average values.
