Abstract
At present almost all of the industrial spaces use conventional high intensity discharge lamps as light sources. These sources have less luminous efficacy and less life which make them energy inefficient. Being energy intensive, industrial spaces crave for energy saving measures and solid state lighting is a right choice. The project is aimed at design and development of an energy efficient high bay industrial luminaire using Philips Lumileds LEDs.The intent was also to evaluate the potential of energy saving possible in comparison to the conventional luminaires.
